Changing the Direction of Casing Installation
The Casing Compass is your solution to safer, faster, and more accurate bores. It combines a water level discharge with a 2 axis grade sensor and illuminates the water level discharge inside the casing to allow you to check line without pulling augers. Cut down on confined space entries, fewer auger pulls, and more production... all with one tool!

KEEPING YOU SAFE, ACCURATE, AND AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
- Fewer Confined Space Entries Fewer
- Auger Pulls
- More Time Spent on Boring
- Early Detection of Grade Deviation
- Smaller Corrections
- Increased Bore Accuracy
- Smaller Soil Profile

WATER LEVEL
The Casing Compass takes the place of a traditonal water level block on the Casing Lead Joint. It flows water just as a normal water level block would, preventing air bubbles from getting into the hose
-
GRADE SENSOR
The integrated precision grade sensor ensures real-time tracking of casing grade throughout the bore. Because a significant distance must be traveled after a grade change before it results in a noticeable change in water level elevation, this system enables early detection of deviations and allows for smaller corrections.
-
Line Reference
Previously only available on Hydraulic Steering Heads, the Casing Compass brings Line Reference technology to the conventional bore world, which means NO PULLING AUGERS TO CHECK LINE!! Integrated electronics illuminate the water level discharge water inside the casing, creating a beacon of light visible from the bore pit at over 200 ft of bore length. A theodolite can be used on long bores to increase visibility. Simply turn your light on from the control panel, run water through the water level, and check right/left alignment down hole.
-
CASING ROLL
User-defined casing diameter, together with Casing Compass sensors, provides the user with a real-time indicator of how far the lead joint has rolled to the right or left. Early indicators allow for earlier and simpler corrections.

DISPOSABLE
Once it's welded on, it's designed to be left in the ground. Of course, it can be retrieved and reused, but at a quantity-buy purchase price of under $800, why would you want to retrieve it? Any Casing Compass head can be used with any control box.
